With a wish list and budget indication in his pocket, he looks for the dream house or construction project for them, and guides them with their step-by-step plan towards their own home in Umbria, or in neighboring Tuscany. Handy for anyone who cannot be in Italy all the time, or does not speak the language (well enough). Because we have been living in Umbria for 18 years and have had to take care of the necessary 'jobs' in Casa San Carlo ourselves, we have built up a large network of reliable and professional specialists. Together with a permanent and knowledgeable team, Torben has now supervised the purchase of several holiday homes for Dutch buyers. In addition, he acts as a local contact person, interpreter/translator and construction supervisor in the reconstruction and renovation of houses and the construction of swimming pools. For example, he supervised a large construction project in which a 3-storey ruin was transformed into a beautiful private house with guest rooms and 'infinity pool'. To this end, he coordinated all the mutual consultations between the various construction parties, monitored the schedules and was present as the 'voice of the buyer'.
Arranging building permits, requesting specified quotes, conducting price negotiations with third parties, choosing interior supplies via video calls, up to the daily supervision of the renovation: it is what the 'practical follower' Torben likes to do for others.
