This year, sommelier Torben would like to take you on a tour through the Umbrian wine world! Umbria is a wine region with a long history and is home to numerous wineries, including some world-famous ones. In 2014, Torben completed the three-year study of the Associazione Italiana Sommelier and now he likes to share his wine knowledge with the guests of Casa San Carlo.
For this year we have set two 'fixed' dates for the regular Wine-Food Weekend , these fixed weekends will take place anyway if at least 4 participants have registered. In addition, we always offer the possibility to book a 'Tailor-made Wine-Food Weekend': these are private weekends or midweeks, booked by guests who want to enjoy a specially tailored wine program with their own group. The program
For more than three full days you will be immersed in the Umbrian wine world and you don't have to think about anything yourself! We will pick you up at the airport on Friday (late morning) and drive you from beautiful place to beautiful place all weekend. You will visit wine cellars and vineyards, you will learn why it is so much fun to serve the right wine with the right dish and you will hear lots of interesting wine facts. You taste Tuscan and Umbrian top wines, you learn everything about the different grape varieties, if the program (and the weather!) allows it, you visit a nice city nearby in between, you get delicious meals in Casa San Carlo, you have a beautiful swimming pool at your disposal to take a refreshing dip after the day program and you sleep in a nice apartment... la vita è bella! After breakfast on Monday morning, we will take you back to the airport.
The price
The price for this long weekend wine tasting is € 850 per person, minimum 4 and maximum 12 participants (depending on the composition of the guests and individual wishes regarding bedrooms). Included in this price is the following:
Transfers to/from the airport, in a minivan for up to 7 passengers.
We assume an arrival and departure from a) Perugia airport, or b) Rome Fiumicino airport. If you are travelling to another airport, please consult with us (due to the same arrival times as the other participants).
All transport during the 4 program days: from/to Casa San Carlo, to the wineries, possibly city visit
3 x overnight stay in Casa San Carlo in an apartment, based on a double bedroom and a (possibly, with a maximum of 1 other participant, shared) bathroom.
3 x breakfast & 3 x dinner, incl. water, wines and coffee.
Tastings & tours at wineries, wines and appetizers (or any lunches, depending on the final program and schedule)
